Books, Wine and Chocolate

"While I'm interested in both economics and philosophy, the union of my interests in the two fields far exceeds their intersection," said Amartya Sen. When Ilse philosophized about economics, she arrived at books, wine, and chocolate. She appreciates all three, by the way. Books represent broadening our minds and the realization that all progress requires letting go of old ideas and allowing new insights. Wine refers to the wisdom of the heart with which people connect with each other and the planet. And chocolate? It symbolizes sustainable action, decisiveness, and entrepreneurship – as with Tony Chocolonely.

Octopus of the company

Ilse has taken a variety of paths in her professional career, from tax specialist for an international group of companies, to organizational and executive coach, to researcher. For years, she has studied, both internationally and internationally, how socially innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship manifests itself in new business models and how these companies are gradually establishing themselves within the macroeconomic landscape. Passionate about a healthy society, she combines all her knowledge and experience in her work and enjoys venturing into large, complex systems. She adores Peter Senge's quote, who once asked his audience: "Are you taking so little action because you're not interested, or because your dream isn't big enough?"

Never leave her alone for too long in ...

A bookstore, a garden center, and the greengrocer. Books are her friends, flowers and trees she can't resist, and she grows her own tomatoes and organic vegetables, drawing inspiration from Ottolenghi and others to cook delicious meals with them. Recently, she's been bitten by the running bug.
